Spanning the Golden Horn, the Galata Bridge is more than just a link between old and new, East and West. It is one of Istanbul’s most recognizable landmarks—a vibrant gathering place where locals stroll, fish, eat, drink, and shop.

Nut stalls, corn, balık ekmek, clothes, toys, tea, baklava, and bars—an Istanbul staple. But tucked away in a quiet corner, I found something unexpected: a tattoo studio.

Ali and Riza work there, in situ, tattooing passersby. For a few nights, I stayed with them, watching them work, drinking tea, and sharing stories.
