Galata Ink
The Galata Bridge is one of Istanbul’s most recognizable landmarks. Much more than simply a link connecting the old and new, the East and West across the Golden Horn, it’s also a place where the city’s locals gather to promenade, fish, eat, drink, smoke and shop...
Nut stalls, fresh corn, Balik Ekmek (delicious fish sandwich), clothes, shoes, toys, water, tee, baclava, restaurants and bars. Is a unique Istanbul experience. What was an unexpected to find in a corner of the bridge was a tattoo salon.
Ali and Riza make there, in situ tattoos for the passing by people. For few nights I stay with them watching them working, drinking tee and sharing stories.
